NSCT MOVING FORWARD
Dear North Shore Children’s Theatre Community,
On behalf of North Shore Children’s Theatre we are delighted to announce that Nicole Poirier will assume the role of Executive Director. As one of the founders, Nicole has been a widely respected member of the NSCT community. Long before NSCT was formed, Nicole was an avid proponent of the importance and value in developing a positive environment for children to express and expand their talents in the performing arts. Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Theater from Salem State University and a Master’s Degree in Child Development with a focus on the Arts and Education from Tufts University. We feel that these attributes and achievements match our vision for the future of North Shore Children’s Theatre.
We are also excited to announce that starting this summer we are moving our rehearsal studio to St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church in Marblehead on 67 Cornell Road. The new location is much larger, only 10 minutes from our current location with plenty of parking and includes a stage! As always, our fall and spring productions will be at the Collins Middle School in Salem.
We also want to take a moment to thank Patricia Bochnak, our current Executive Director, for her dedication and commitment to the North Shore Children’s Theatre. Her vision was instrumental in the development of North Shore Children’s Theatre and she will be missed greatly. We wish her all the best in her next endeavors.
Shannon Larson, Board Chairperson
North Shore Children’s Theatre (NSCT) provides young performers professional training and arts education offering classes in musical theater dance, acting and singing while giving children the opportunity to be a part of a professional theater production. Through the process of rehearsal and performance, actors learn about the world of performing arts while building self-confidence, respect for self and others, and working as a team toward a common goal. NSCT focuses on the process of learning and exploration of self through the performing arts of theater, dance and music.
